Our Pentecostal tradition affirms modesty in dress and appearance. We welcome you to join us in worship wearing what makes you most comfortable. A large amount of our sunday morning attenders wear buisness attire (suits and dresses). During other service times, dressy-casual attire is more than appropriate.
What is your style of music and preaching?
Due to the Pentecostal heritage that we hold, our services tend to be upbeat, dynamic, and demonstrative. While our music is a mix of classic hymns and modern worship, the preaching is interactive and high impact. You're likely to find the congregation clapping their hands or offering a hearty "Amen" where appropriate in the service.
Are there programs for my teenagers and children?
We value youth and children of all ages! Nursery age children up through 5th grade may attend designated classes and kid's worship, while teenagers remain in the morning worship service on Sunday Mornings. Teens may join their designated class on Sunday nights and lively worship in their own youth service on Wednesday nights. Classes are offered for children grades 5 and under during all regularly scheduled services. For more information about our children and youth ministries please visit their designated pages on our website.
Membership in the local church is a sacred committment in which the individual enters into a covenant relationship with the local assembly. Membership at Middlesex Church of God is highly encouraged. To become a member of this local assembly means that you become a member of the Church of God one of the largest Pentecostal denominations in the world. If you are interested in becoming a member of this local and global movement, please contact our senior pastor in order to set up an interview at (252) 235-5885 ext. 222 or by emailing him at seniorpastor@midcog.org
At Middlesex Church of God, we believe that every member has been uniquely called into ministry for the Kingdom. As such, we are constantly looking for new ways to involve our members in the ministries of our church. If you are a member and are interested in working for the church then please visit the Volunteer page of our website to explore more about each department and to submit a volunteer inquiry form.
Could I be added to your mailing list?
Yes, the easiest way to be added to our mailing list is to submit a request form on the Contact Us page of this website. When there please remember to fill out all of the pertinent information and be sure to specifically ask to be placed on our mailing list.
Do you provide transportation?
Yes, we provide transportation assistance to all of our regularly scheduled services and special events. To read more about our van ministry please click here
What is your wedding and/or funeral policy?
An updated wedding and/or funeral policy will be released in February 2011. Once released it can be found on the resource page of our website.
Do you provide financial assistance?
If you have a financial need you may call the church offices during normal business hours in order to express that need to our church secretary. She will then pass your need along to our benevolence committee for review. In addition to financial assistance, the church does have a small food pantry available. If you are in need of food please contact our church offices during regular business hours. For more information on how to contact us click here.
Are there are programs for senior citizens?
Yes, we have a very strong and vibrant ministry for the seniors citizens of our community of faith. The seniors of our church remain active with fundraisers, monthly outings, yearly trips to Pennsylvania and Tennessee, and bi-weekly worship gatherings. They stay actively involved with the youth of our church through a program entitled "Ageless Unity in Christ." We even have traveling ministers specifically called to visit those seniors who are unable to make it out for our regularly scheduled programs. The seniors at Middlesex Church of God truly are a central part of the ministry efforts of our local body and of the life of our church.
